چکیده

The notion of this research is based on the two devastating earthquake events that happened October 8, 2005, and September 24, 2019, in regions Azad Kashmir Muzaffarabad. This study aims to (i) identification susceptible zones where landslides can occur future; (ii) preparation landslide inventory maps using vector data, satellite imagery, Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (STRM) Advanced Space-borne Thermal Emission Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) DEM; (iii) implementation Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model weighted overlay analysis (WOA). For purpose, key factors such as land use, faults, slope, contours, soil, seismology are used develop a hazard zonation map. output susceptibility map has four levels low, medium, high, very high vulnerable zones. results indicated highly zone found northwestern part Muzaffarabad, which metropolitan region. Moreover, there 127 active identified collectively about 9% area future landslides. Furthermore, findings helpful tactful thinking for infrastructure development, ecological protection high-susceptible It also helps Government make strategies any specific priority basis reduce casualties destruction events.
